Algorfa town - Alicante province
La Ermita
Algorfa is a village in the province of Alicante in south east Spain. Like many villages in the vicinity it is growing fast catering for the many northern Europeans, (mainly British) who have chosen this sunny part of Spain, to retire or re-locate. The village is located a couple of kilometres to the south of Almoradí a thriving town with a splendid street market on Saturday mornings. One of the reasons for the expansion of Algorfa is the nearby golf club of La Finca, recently constructed and combined with a new urbanisation; a pretty course but with overpriced green fees.
The central plaza is very pretty, enjoyable to sit out in the open air in the winter months with a drink obtained from one of the local bars.
Just to the south of the village is the friendly tennis club, here you can enjoy a menu del dia for 8.50 euros

The seaside town of Torrevieja is about 8 kilometres to the east.
