Playa de los Naufragos

This beach at the southern end of Torrevieja is divided by the pier where the salt is collected by ships. The northern side has a string of restaurants where many people partake of el menu del dia, even through most days of the winter months. The sea here is very calm and sheltered, being in a man made harbour, which also contains several fishing. boats. Being shallow the water stays warm in the autumn making it suitable for swimming, most years well into December. A kilometre to the north are the international and a private club marinas.

            Las Rocas

Situated in the central coastal area of Torrevieja, this is a man made, small harbour designed for bathing, it is very safe and although the sandy area is small, there is a large concreted section with seating, for the sun bathers.
The promenade is very wide and contains cafés and ice cream parlours, a lovely place for a menu del dia, al fresco.

Playa Los Locas

Los Locos Beach, also called El Salaret beach Blue flag beach, golden sandy beach with clean clear water. The nothern end becomes a succession of small ending at Cabo Cervera. The beach has access for disabled persons

The beach is very popular and is very crowded during the summer.

Equipment and services:  red cross, lifeguards and special handicapped persons facilities, ice-cream stand, new stand, restaurants, bus stop, promenade, public phones.

La Mata

Just to the north of Torrevieja, the village of La Mata is a typical Spanish village which not only has one of the best sandy beaches in Spain, but also an excellent street market every Wednesday morning and some brilliant bars, shops and restaurants. We often enjoy breakfast in the plaza followed by a walk along the beach to the historical sea side town of Guardamar del Segura
