Bigástro - Town in the Alicante Province

Bigástro is located in the heart of the Vega Baja (Low Fertile valley), to the east of Orihuela on the C95 the Torrevieja - Orihuela road. This municipality of 6500 inhabitants belongs to the province of Alicante. Bigástro is surrounded by nature, woodland and the traditional farms. The people, their traditions and gastronomy turn it into an incomparable place. The main occupation of the residents is the construction industry. The town enjoys a very nice municipal park a variety of shops, restaurants and bars. The capital and historic town of Orihuela is a distance of 5 kilometres.

Nearby is the natural park of "Pedrera"  a large area with a variety of flora and fauna.
Within the park there are areas for camping and caravans, log cabins for rent, a restaurant, children's play areas, etc.
