Torre Pacheco

A few kilometres from the shores of the Mar Menor lays the town of Torre Pacheco. With a population of 24,300 it enjoys all the facilities needed for making it home. Though there is increased interest in the town it still remains un spoilt by tourism. The town has retained much of its culture & atmosphere, remaining traditionally Spanish at heart.

Being established the town boasts a good selection of shops & recreational amenities; in addition to government installations such as a train station & doctor's surgery. Golf is well catered for here with the resident 9 hole Torre Pacheco golf course close at hand. There are several golf course resorts planned and currently being constructed in the vicinity.

Weekly street market is held on Saturday mornings and has a good variety of stalls including : fruit and vegetables, clothes, tools, materials, shoes, pottery, kitchen utensils and many others.

The nearest airport to Torre Pacheco is San Javier international airport (MJV), located near the town of San Javier. Travel time should take no longer than 15 minutes. Alicante International airport (ALC) is also an option, though farther afield.

There are many fiestas (festivals) throughout Torre Pacheco's calendar, some of which are a real spectacle & well worth a look. The cuisine is another major bonus, with (affordable) good food available in the town restaurants & tapas bars.

Torre Pacheco is also well known for its mild climate & enjoys sunshine for in excess of 320 days per year. The sun is at its hottest during the summer months, with temperatures rarely falling below 30°C (86°F). Winters are typically very mild with averages hovering around 18°C (64°F).
